Version 1.0 — Last Updated: February 26, 2026
1. Program Overview
The DoorVault Affiliate Program rewards partners who refer new paying customers to DoorVault. Affiliates earn recurring commissions on every subscription payment made by users they refer, for as long as that user remains a paying customer.
The program is designed for two types of partners: industry professionals (property managers, real estate coaches, investor communities) and content creators (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, blogs). Both tiers share the same base terms with performance bonuses available for high-volume partners.
2. Pricing Context
DoorVault's current subscription plans:
| Plan | Price | Target |
| Starter | Free forever | Hobbyist (up to 2 properties) |
| Growth | $29/month | Active investor (up to 10 properties) |
| Scale | $79/month | Portfolio builder (up to 50 properties) |
| Enterprise | $149/month | Professional (unlimited properties) |
Commissions are earned only on paid plans (Growth, Scale, Enterprise). Free Starter signups do not generate commissions until/unless the user upgrades to a paid plan.
3. Commission Structure
3.1 Base Commission — 25% Recurring
Affiliates earn 25% of net subscription revenue for every month a referred customer stays subscribed. "Net" means after any discounts, coupons, or promotional pricing are applied.
| Referred Plan | Monthly Payment | Your Commission (25%) |
| Growth | $29.00 | $7.25/mo |
| Scale | $79.00 | $19.75/mo |
| Enterprise | $149.00 | $37.25/mo |
If your referral uses a discount (see Section 4), commissions are calculated on the discounted amount. For example, a Growth user at 10% off pays $26.10/mo, and your commission would be $6.53/mo.
Annual subscriptions: If a referred user pays annually (when available), the commission is calculated on each payment. A $29/mo plan paid annually at $290/yr results in a one-time commission of $72.50 for that year.
3.2 Performance Tiers
Affiliates who drive volume unlock higher rates:
| Tier | Active Referred Users | Commission Rate |
| Partner | 1–10 | 25% |
| Pro | 11–25 | 28% |
| Elite | 26–50 | 30% |
| Ambassador | 51+ | 33% |
"Active referred users" means users currently on a paid plan who originally signed up through your link or code. Tier status is recalculated on the 1st of each month based on the prior month's active count. Tier upgrades take effect immediately; tier downgrades have a 2-month grace period.
3.3 Earnings Potential
To illustrate the long-term value of recurring commissions:
| Scenario | Monthly Earnings |
| 10 Growth users ($29/mo) | $72.50/mo |
| 20 Growth + 5 Scale users | $243.50/mo |
| 50 mixed users (avg $55/mo) | $687.50/mo (at 30% Elite tier) |
| 100 mixed users (avg $55/mo) | $1,815.00/mo (at 33% Ambassador tier) |
These compound over time. An affiliate who brings 5 new users per month and retains 90% of existing referrals would be earning $2,000+/mo within a year.
4. Referred Customer Discount
Each affiliate provides their referrals with a 10% discount on the first 3 months of any paid plan. This discount is automatically applied when a user signs up using the affiliate's link or promo code. Discount percentage may vary per affiliate at DoorVault's discretion.
| Plan | Normal Price | With Affiliate Discount (months 1–3) |
| Growth | $29/mo | $26.10/mo |
| Scale | $79/mo | $71.10/mo |
| Enterprise | $149/mo | $134.10/mo |
After 3 months, the user pays full price. This incentivizes conversions while limiting the discount window.
5. Attribution & Tracking
5.1 How Referrals Are Tracked
Each affiliate gets two attribution methods:
- Referral Link — A unique URL (e.g.,
https://doorvault.app/?ref=YOURCODE) that places a 30-day first-party cookie on the visitor's browser. If the visitor creates an account within 30 days of clicking the link, they are attributed to the affiliate.
- Promo Code — A custom alphanumeric code that the user can enter during signup or at checkout. The code is case-insensitive and applies the customer discount plus attributes the referral.
5.2 Attribution Rules
- 30-day cookie window: If a visitor clicks your referral link and signs up within 30 days, you get credit — even if they don't sign up for a paid plan immediately. The attribution sticks until they upgrade.
- First-touch attribution: The first affiliate link clicked gets credit. If a user clicks Affiliate A's link, then later clicks Affiliate B's link, Affiliate A gets the referral (first cookie wins).
- Code overrides cookie: If a user has an existing cookie from Affiliate A but manually enters Affiliate B's promo code at checkout, Affiliate B gets credit. The explicit code entry signals stronger intent.
- Lifetime lock-in: Once a user is attributed to an affiliate, that attribution is permanent. If the user cancels and later resubscribes, the original affiliate still gets credit.
- No self-referrals: Affiliates cannot use their own link or code for their own account.
6. Payouts
6.1 Payment Method
All payouts are processed via Stripe Connect. Affiliates must connect a Stripe account (or create one during registration) to receive payments. Stripe Connect supports bank transfers in 40+ countries.
6.2 Payout Schedule
- Commissions are calculated and accrued in real time as referred users make payments.
- Payouts are processed monthly on the 15th for all commissions earned in the prior calendar month.
- There is a 30-day hold on new commissions before they become eligible for payout. This protects against refunds and chargebacks. Example: a commission earned on March 5th becomes payable on the April 15th payout.
6.3 Minimum Payout
The minimum payout threshold is $50. If your accrued balance is below $50, it rolls over to the next month. There is no maximum holding period — your balance never expires.
6.4 Currency
All commissions are calculated and paid in USD. Currency conversion (if applicable) is handled by Stripe at their standard exchange rates.
7. Clawbacks & Refunds
- If a referred customer requests a refund within Stripe's refund window, the corresponding commission is clawed back (reversed) from the affiliate's pending balance.
- If a referred customer's payment fails and the subscription is cancelled for non-payment, no commission is earned for that period.
- If a referred customer disputes a charge (chargeback), the commission is reversed immediately. If the chargeback is later resolved in DoorVault's favor, the commission is re-credited.
- Clawbacks are deducted from future payouts. If the affiliate's balance goes negative (rare), the negative balance carries forward until offset by future commissions.
8. Affiliate Registration & Onboarding
8.1 How to Join
Affiliates register via a public registration page. The registration process:
- Apply — Name, email, website/social media links, how you plan to promote DoorVault, and estimated audience size.
- Pending Review — The application enters a "pending" state. You will see a confirmation message. You cannot generate a referral link, promo code, or access the dashboard until approved.
- Admin Approval — Every application is manually reviewed and approved or rejected. No affiliate is ever auto-approved.
- Approval Email — Upon approval, you receive an email with a link to set up your account.
- Setup — You log in, create your custom promo code, connect Stripe, and access marketing materials.
Important: No referral links, promo codes, or commissions are active until admin approval.
8.2 Who Can Join
The program is open to anyone aged 18+ who agrees to these terms. Specifically targeted at:
- Real estate investors and communities
- Property management professionals
- Real estate coaches and educators
- Finance and investing content creators
- Real estate tech reviewers
8.3 Invited vs. Public Affiliates
- Invited affiliates receive a direct registration link that pre-fills their application. They still require admin approval, but may receive custom commission rates negotiated individually.
- Public affiliates apply through the public form and go through the same review process (typically 1–3 business days).
Both paths require explicit admin approval — no exceptions.
9. Affiliate Dashboard
Each affiliate gets access to a dedicated dashboard showing:
- Earnings overview — Total earned, pending, paid, and available for payout
- Referral list — All users who signed up with your code/link, their plan, signup date, status, and lifetime revenue generated
- Commission history — Every commission transaction (earned, clawed back, paid out) with dates and amounts
- Payout history — All payouts with status, dates, and Stripe transfer references
- Performance stats — Click-through rate, conversion rate, average revenue per referral, tier progress
- Marketing materials — Pre-built banners, social media templates, email copy, and the referral link/code
- Link & code management — Create, edit, or disable promo codes and view link click analytics
10. Rules & Restrictions
10.1 Permitted Promotion Methods

- Podcast mentions and video reviews
- In-person recommendations and event mentions
- Online community participation (forums, Reddit, Discord, Facebook groups) — with proper disclosure
10.2 Prohibited Activities

- Misleading claims — Do not make false, exaggerated, or unsubstantiated claims about DoorVault's features, pricing, or capabilities.
- Spam — Do not send unsolicited emails, texts, or messages promoting your referral link.

- Trademark misuse — Do not register domains containing "DoorVault" or create social accounts impersonating DoorVault.
- Incentivized signups — Do not offer cash, gift cards, or other non-DoorVault incentives for people to sign up through your link.
10.3 FTC Disclosure Requirement
Affiliates must clearly disclose their affiliate relationship whenever promoting DoorVault. This is a legal requirement (FTC guidelines). Examples of acceptable disclosure:
- "This is an affiliate link — I earn a commission if you sign up."
- #ad or #affiliate on social media posts
- A disclosure page on your website
Failure to disclose may result in account suspension.
11. Term & Termination
11.1 Agreement Duration
The affiliate agreement is effective from the date of approval and continues indefinitely until terminated by either party.
11.2 Termination by Affiliate
Affiliates may terminate their participation at any time by emailing [email protected] or through their dashboard. Upon termination:
- Any pending commissions above the $50 minimum will be paid out in the next payout cycle.
- Referral attributions remain active — if existing referrals continue paying, the affiliate continues to earn commissions for 90 days after termination ("tail period").
- After the 90-day tail period, all future commissions on existing referrals cease.
11.3 Termination by DoorVault
DoorVault may terminate an affiliate's participation at any time, with or without cause. Common reasons include:
- Violation of prohibited activities (Section 10.2)
- Failure to disclose affiliate relationship (Section 10.3)
- Fraudulent referrals or commission manipulation
- Inactivity (no new referrals for 12+ consecutive months)
Upon termination for cause, DoorVault reserves the right to withhold pending commissions.
11.4 Program Changes
DoorVault reserves the right to modify commission rates, tiers, cookie duration, payout schedules, and other program terms with 30 days' written notice to active affiliates. Changes do not apply retroactively to commissions already earned.
12. Intellectual Property & Branding
- DoorVault grants affiliates a limited, non-exclusive license to use the DoorVault name, logo, and approved marketing materials for the sole purpose of promoting the affiliate program.
- Affiliates may not modify the DoorVault logo or brand assets.
- DoorVault will provide an affiliate media kit with approved graphics, copy, and social media templates.
- Affiliates retain full ownership of their own content (reviews, tutorials, videos) created to promote DoorVault.
13. Liability & Indemnification
- DoorVault is not liable for any losses, damages, or claims arising from an affiliate's promotional activities.
- Affiliates agree to indemnify DoorVault against any claims resulting from their promotional methods, content, or failure to comply with applicable laws (including FTC guidelines).
